Nutrition
This isn’t a diet plan, meal plan, or any other type of quick fix. Through nutrition coaching with me, you’ll learn how to fuel your body properly to achieve your goals, and be supported through every step of your journey.
Whether you want to…
- lose fat
- build muscle
- improve health
- improve performance
- ditch the diets and get long-term results
- understand the ‘what’, ‘why’ and ‘how’ behind good nutrition
…or all of the above, my coaching is for you!
My approach varies to suit your individual needs, but it’s always underpinned by 4 key principles - expand the tabs to discover how these values could be the secret to finally getting long-term results, finding confidence with food and your body, and truly breaking free from the diet mentality.
-
You might have experienced a fixed approach to nutrition in the past, for example, following a meal plan, calorie counting, cutting out carbs, sugar or other food groups.
My process is different. We’ll work together to establish an approach that suits your unique goals, priorities and lifestyle.
A few examples of tools we may use in your coaching journey include:
- calorie/macro tracking
- habit building
- food prepping and planning
- mindful eating and appetite awareness
- accountability checksIf you have questions about what’s involved, check out the FAQ at the bottom of this page or get in touch!
-
Diets don’t work - statistically, you’re more likely to regain more weight than you lost than you are to keep it off!
Traditional diets - quick fixes, extreme measures, constant yo-yo-ing, and restriction - are not only terrible for our physical health, but also for our mental health. Let’s be honest: dieting is miserable.
That’s why we work on making gradual, sustainable changes that you’ll realistically be able to maintain in the long run…enabling you to maintain your results in the long run, and finally say goodbye to dieting.
-
Traditional diets focus on what you need to avoid and cut out of your diet. The result? You end up feeling restricted, and wanting that ‘forbidden fruit’ even more. You end up bingeing, or just giving up altogether.
Instead, we’ll take a positive approach - asking the question, ‘What can we ADD?’
Whether that’s adding more of certain food groups, more variety, more mindful eating, or more healthy lifestyle habits, focusing on what we can ADD allows you to feel fulfilled, rather than deprived.
-
Whether your goals are to lose weight or achieve peak sports performance, your health is a non-negotiable.
Your weekly check-ins cover sleep, stress, mood, energy levels, progress in training, and even menstrual cycle changes (where relevant). This allows us to spot trends, and identify and address any red flags early on.
Your mental health is a key part of this - which includes your relationship with food, exercise and your body. This is why mindset is a key part of coaching, which you can read more about below.
Nutrition Coaching FAQs
What support will I get?
Coaching is delivered via the app ‘Trainerize’, where you’ll have the ability to message me at any time throughout the week. In addition, you’ll complete a weekly check-in, which I’ll provide feedback from, and use as a basis for any adjustments and targets for the following week. You’ll also get a monthly coaching call to review your overall progress, address any questions or concerns, and create an action plan for the coming month.
Will I have to track calories?
No! The first step is establishing a baseline of what your current diet looks like. This can look like:
A written food diary
A photo food log
Tracking calories and/or macronutrients
We then use this baseline to agree on gradual, sustainable changes or habits. Examples of this include establishing nutritious breakfast options, learning about portion sizes or adding more variety. My approach is always flexible, with the priority being to find what works for you in the long run.
I have a medical condition - can you work with me?
When you complete the application form, you’ll be required to agree to the medical liability release, as well as disclose any medical conditions. Please confirm with your doctor PRIOR to this that they are happy for you to embark on your coaching journey. Please note that for certain conditions I WILL NOT be able to work with you unless you provide a confirmation letter from your doctor. Please get in touch if you are unsure, and if I feel that my services are not appropriate, I will endeavour to refer you to a relevant specialist.
Why do I have to put my weight on the application form?
My coaching is not weight-focused, as I believe that there are countless markers of health that are far more significant than your bodyweight. However, it’s important for me to properly understand your starting point, as well to safeguard anyone whose application indicates that they may be struggling with disordered eating or body dysmorphia, so that I can work within my scope of practice and refer to appropriate help.
I have special dietary requirements - can you work with me?
YES! Whether you are vegan or vegetarian, or suffer with intolerances or allergies, nutrition coaching can be the perfect way to learn how to nourish your body and prevent any nutrient deficiencies, whilst working around dietary limitations or preferences.
How can you help me achieve peak performance as an athlete?
No matter what sport you do, peak performance requires correct fuelling to enable you to push hard, then recover and replenish before going again.
We’ll find what works for you when it comes to nutrition around training, whilst also supporting you in implementing healthy lifestyle habits to help you manage areas such as sleep and stress, which are imperative for maximising recovery.
Through long-term planning, we can work on optimising body composition or making weight for competition, whilst keeping your energy levels and performance on point. Coaching also includes competition-day nutrition to enable you to perform your best when it counts!

How do you provide feedback?
I’ll give feedback on your form and progress in a variety of ways:
written feedback and cues
using slow-mo and screenshots from the videos you provide to highlight technique points
providing demonstration videos
+ more!
I’ll endeavour to understand your learning style in order to provide feedback in a way that’s convenient and easy to understand and implement for you.
I have a medical condition - can you work with me?
When you complete the application form, you’ll be required to agree to the medical liability release, as well as disclose any medical conditions. I have an injury - can you work with me?
Absolutely! Having graduated with a first-class degree in Physiotherapy from the University of Birmingham in 2021, my understanding of injury management, prevention and rehabilitation is beyond that of a ‘typical fitness coach’.
You’re in safe hands when it comes to both receiving a safe and effective training programme which minimises the risk of injury, as well as working around any past or present injuries.
Please note that my coaching is NOT intended to treat any injuries, and I may at times recommend you seek treatment from a specialist physiotherapist.
I want to do a combination of training types, can you provide this?
Yes! The training packages above are intended to give a taste of what I can offer, but if you want to combine training types, or want to know if I can support you in a specific type or training or sport, please get in touch! I’m happy to answer any questions so you can feel confident that your coaching package is the perfect fit for you.
Can you help me with competing?
With extensive competition experience in weightlifting and CrossFit, I can help with all aspects of competing, including:
training and tapering before a competition
competition strategy
managing nerves
helping you build a confident, resilient mindset
attempt selection in weightlifting
building towards competing for the first time
competition-day support (in-person support may be subject to additional costs and dependent on location and availability)
I can support with several of the above aspects for other sports, such as running and Hyrox. If you have questions about how I can help - get in touch!
Mindset
I believe that creating lasting change requires going beyond just providing nutrition advice or training programmes.
Negative beliefs and associations, as well as unhealthy attitudes towards nutrition and fitness can keep you feeling stuck, or reverting back to old habits before the new ones stick.
By incorporating mindset work into my coaching approach, I’ll guide you in developing a positive and empowering mindset that sets you up for long-term success. Expand the tabs to find out how!
-
Goals are often looked at solely in terms of outcome - the ‘end goal’. And yet to achieve any meaningful goal, we must spend a significant time in the ‘process’.
This is why I prioritise the journey, the small steps, and the habits developed along the way. Through my coaching, you’ll learn to find a sense of accomplishment in the small wins, helping you to cultivate a positive relationship with nutrition and training, and not just see it as a ‘means to an end’.
I’ll help you set realistic and achievable outcome goals, then look at the day-to-day process goals that we need to focus on in order to reach the desired outcome!
This approach
-
Another benefit of focusing on process goals is that it helps to create positive momentum.
You’ve probably thought at times ‘I just need more motivation’ or ‘I wish I was more motivated’ - thinking that motivation is what you need to create success.
In fact, it’s the other way round - achieving small wins, such as ticking off a daily habit, or completing a workout, can, with the correct mindset, create motivation.
By setting process goals and acknowledging each small success, you create momentum - and motivation - in the direction of your goals.
-
The path to success is never linear, and those who do achieve success are not the ones who never fail - they’re the ones who get up, brush themselves off and keep going when they do.
Through coaching, I’ll help you adopt a growth mindset, where start to view what you may once have called ‘failures’ as lessons, and opportunities for growth.
And each time you do this - pick yourself up and keep going when things don’t go the way you’d hoped - you build resilience and a belief that you can do anything you put your mind to!
-
Through coaching, we work through the process of growing your confidence across many areas of your life, including:
body confidence: starting the journey to self-acceptance and challenging old beliefs tying your appearance and weight to your self-worth and happiness
food confidence: feeling empowered with the knowledge and skills to make food choices that nourish your body, whilst still enjoying foods that nourish your soul!
exercise confidence: overcoming anxiety, self-doubt, fear and any other barriers, as I guide you through an individualised programme at your pace, providing feedback and reassurance at every stage
self-confidence: developing self-belief that empowers you to thrive in all aspects of your life, as you tick off and celebrate each accomplishment in your health and fitness journey
